There is also a large camp site situated near the village of Kemmel about 5 miles from Ypres. The main site is open all year round and has a shop and bar. A children’s swimming pool is open during the summer months. It is ideally suited for traveling around the Ypres Salient Battlefields. Contact:

TALBOT HOUSE (TOC H), Gasthuisstraat 43, 8970 Poperinge: Beautiful 18th century house used extensively by thousands of allied soldiers during WW1. Rooms available today for self catering accommodation at an unbeatable price. Described as a living museum, the house is located about 250 meters from the town square of Poperinghe (10 miles west of Ypres). It really is THE place to stay for the battlefield tourist. VARLET FARM, Wallemolenstraat 43, 8920 Poelkappelle: Varlet Farm Bed and breakfast is located about 2 kilometers away from the famous village of Passchendaele (about 5 miles from Ypres). The original farm was destroyed in WW1. The modern farm is run by Charlotte and Dirk Cardoen-Descamps. They offer farm house accommodation and a barn converted into accommodation. It is certainly a place to stay for those Battlefield tourists who want to get away from everything. A beautiful farm that has a lot of things on display showing what modern day Belgian farmers discover in their fields! From Bullets to a German Maxim Machine-Gun!
